About Turzum Estate
Rung Bong valley · 3,600–5,600 ft · est. mid-1860s
Mid to high slopes in the Rung Bong valley, on fertile Himalayan soil under near-constant mist. One of the older plantings in Darjeeling, and the age of the bushes shows in the depth rather than the brightness of the cup.
ProductionOrthodox, and the autumn flush is the serious harvest here rather than an afterthought. That includes blossom lots, where the tea flower is picked and made alongside the leaf.
